Daladier was a radical socialist. He was elected to the French Chamber of Deputies in 1919. In 1924, he served in the French cabinet. Daladier became premier for the first time in 1933, a job he held for nine months. In 1934 he served as premier for two months. Then, in 1938, he became premier once again. Daladier was a strong supporter of appeasement, and signed the "Munich Accords" for France. He was arrested and held in Germany during the war. After the war he served in parliament until 1958.
